Best practice UX project management: Hybrid UX project design

Redefining project management: The application of UX principles in the industry

Reading time: approx. 52 seconds

What impact does over-standardization have on the success of industrial projects?

Can customer-centered UX requirements also be successfully applied to the planning and management of large-scale industrial projects? What are the designable parameters and how do you create a customized project design for hybrid tasks? Traditionally, projects happen and “just fall from the sky” – without a planned orchestration of matching expertise and team skills, or a questioning of whether the allocated time and budget units match the quality objectives. The standardization of product development processes is leading to a trend towards over-control, particularly in the project management of large-scale projects. Here, adherence to time and budget targets, milestones and standards is defined as successful project management.
However, the value-adding soul of the project, “the good end product”, falls by the wayside. Simply following the strategic process objectives therefore guarantees neither product success nor the approval of the responsible user in the market.
This focus is often counterproductive and sometimes causes significant additional costs in quality rework.
